        Medal commemorating the defeat of the Dutch and Spanish Fleets off Catania, 1676. Obverse: Head of King Louis XIV in a long wig. Legend: 'LVDOVICVS . MAGNVS . REX . CHRISTIANISSIMVS.' Reverse: On an antique galley two cupids holding a globe bearing the lilies of France; above a flying Victory about to place a wreath upon it. Legend: 'DELETA HOSTIVM CLASSE.' (The hostile fleet annihilated.) Exergue: 'VICTORIA PANORMITANA M . DC . LXXVI.'  (Victory of Palermo.) A modern restrike.
