Obverse: Youthful bust of Admiral Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, Duc de Penthièvre (1725-1793) with long hair, tied, and ribbon and Order of the Golden Fleece (right). Legend: 'L . J . M . DE BOURBON D . DE PENTHIEVRE AMIRAL DE FR.' Reverse: Calaïs and Zethes, winged, driving three harpies into the sea. Legend: 'FERRO ET PERNICIBUS ALIS.' (With the sword and swift wings.) Exergue: 'MARINE 1758.'
