Sledge plank
Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Spare piece of Albert Hastings Markham's eight-man sledge. A wooden plank with rounded edges, a notch in each of the smaller sides. Groove for lashings at either end. A piece of rope attached by finer lashings.
