Commissioned Officer's sword

Commissioned officer's sword which belonged to Admiral of the Fleet Lord Lewin (1920-1999).
Gilt solid half basket hilt with raised bars and crown and anchor badge. Folding flap on the reverse side pierced to take the button on the scabbard. Lion's head pommel and back-piece with white fish-skin grip bound with three gilt wires.
Wilkinson blade, straight and flat backed. It is etched with acorns and oak leaves together with a crown over an anchor and crown over GR. Flag officer's scabbard, black leather with gilt top locket, mid locket and chape all decorated with oak leaves and acorns. There are suspension rings attached to the top and mid lockets. The sword is in a chamois slip (ZBA 4322.2).
