Medal commemorating the Yacht Club of France. Obverse: A trophy, consisting of an anchor with two dolphins coiled round the stock and a mask blowing favourable winds below, with flags, oar and boathook, supporting a wide tablet (unengraved); a radiating star above. Legend: 'YACHT CLUB DE FRANCE FONDÉ LE 15 JUIN 1867' (Yacht Club of France. Founded 15 June 1867.) Reverse: A draped figure of a woman seated in a shell upon the sea, her scarf as a sail. Legend: 'NAVIGATION DE PLAISANCE' (Navigation for pleasure). 'LUDENDO GUBERNARE DOCET'.
