Line enclosing legend. Legend: 'ADML VERNON TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY'. Exergue: 'NOV 22 1739'. Reverse: Full-length figure of Admiral Haddock, facing, wearing hat, turned three-quarter left. Right hand extended, left resting on muzzle of cannon. Distant view of sea with ship (right), fort (left). Line enclosing legend. Legend: 'ADML H_ _ _K TOOK O WITH SEVERAL SHIPS ONLY'. Vernon's success is compared with Admiral Nicholas Haddock's failure in the Mediterranean.
