        Medal commemorating Vernon's attack on Cartagena, 1741. Obverse: Full-length figure of Admiral Edward Vernon (1684-1757), (left), standing on platform, baton in left hand, right extended. Anchor (right), cannon (left). Line enclosing legend. Legend: 'THE . BRITISH . GLORY . REVIV . D . ADMIRAL . VERNON'. Ns  reversed. Reverse: Large fort in foreground, (right). Outside it a large ship sailing to the left, and four small ships sailing to the right. Within the harbour, two smaller ships, and a boat with a man standing up in it. Trees on both sides. Town in background showing large buildings with three steeples. Line enclosing legend. Legend: 'AD . VERNON . ADML . OGLE TOOK . CARTHAGENA . BY . SEA . AND . LAND'.  Exergue: 'APL : I : 174 : 1'.  Vernon bombarded Cartagena in 1740 and an unsuccessful attempt was made to capture the city in April 1741.
