Medal commemorating the Institution of Naval Architects. Obverse: Shield of the Institution of Naval Architects surmounted by a naval crown and trident-head, supported by dolphins with oak sprays above them. Reverse: A scroll, inscribed 'INSTITUTION OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS, FOUNDED A.D. 1860', a trident-head above and rose, shamrock and thistle sprays below. Fitted with a loop and ring and a bow of red and blue ribbon edged with white and a badge engraved '1897'.
