North Pole board game

Racing board game with wooden shaker, four plastic counters and a die. The board is cardboard with colour-printed picture, and folds in three. Players aim to reach the North Pole along a track of 75 spaces. The surrounding views show the expedition vessels, scenes of Inuit life, and Arctic fauna - walrus, polar bears and sea lions. The pole shows the US flag - the American Robert Peary (1856-1909) claimed to have reached the Pole on 6 April 1909. The wooden die is an improvised replacement.
