Medal commemorating the 'Mediator' frigate and Captain J. Wooldridge, 1809. Obverse: Fireships bearing down upon the French fleet. Rope border supporting a label below inscribed 'XI APRIL MDCCCIX'. Reverse: Inscription within a wreath of oak and laurel, held together by a scallop shell, 'CAPTAIN JAMES WOOLDRIDGE LED THE BRITISH FIRE SHIPS WHEN FOUR FRENCH SAIL OF THE LINE WERE BURNT UNDER THEIR OWN BATTERIES IN AIX ROADS.'
