Medal commemorating the action off Cape St Vincent and the relief of Gibraltar, 1780. Obverse: The Admiral's bust, head wearing cocked hat in very high relief, turned three-quarter right, shoulder square, open uniform coat, right lapel turned back. Legend: 'ADMIRAL RODNEY' (divided by hat). Reverse: Inscription, 'ACTIVE BRAVE VICTORIOUS.' Exergue: '1780'. The whole within a continuous laurel wreath.
