Sleeping bag used by Vice Adm Sir Reginald Skelton as Engineer Lieutenant on Scott's First Antarctic Expedition 1901. A blanket sleeping bag made of three camel brown woollen blankets edged with brown braid. It is closed down one edge, the bottom edge and two thirds of the third side. The sleeping bag is strengthened with a leather binding below the opening, and three buttonholes in two of the layers are also strengthened with leather binding. The owners initials 'R.S.' in blue are appliquéd in the top left corner. A woven 'Jaeger' label is sewn inside the top.
