Half-crown
A half-crown. Obverse: Bust of King William III in a wig (right) defaced. Legend: 'GVLIELMVS DEI GRATIA'. Inscribed with a monogram 'JC' with leafsprays. Reverse: Starboard broadside view of a battleship under sail. Inscribed below, 'ROSE. 1790'. HMS Rose was one of Sir J Jervis' squadron that captured Martinique and St Lucia in 1794.
