Spence's halfpenny token. Obverse: Full-length figure of a sailor (right) brandishing a cudgel, seizing a landsman. Legend: 'BRITISH . LIBERTY . DISPLAYED .' Exergue: '1795'. Reverse: Britannia seated, a shield at her side, a spear in her left hand from which the cap of liberty is falling. Legend: 'ROUSE BRITANNIA!' Inscribed on edge: 'PAYABLE IN LONDON'.
