Reverse: Close starboard-quarter view of a 17th-century battleship showing only lower masts; main course set, emblazoned with a bundle of arrows, large Dutch ensign at the stern; the admiral's arms below. Legend: 'IN . VIER . EN . WEERLICHT . VOORTGERUKT . MET . HOLLANDS . ZEEBANNIER . 24 MRT . 1607 - 29 APRIL . 1676'; (Under the Dutch flag he advanced in [lit. marched into] fire and lightning).
