Medal commemorating the Italian battleship 'Leonardo da Vinci'. Obverse: Bust of Leonardo da Vinci (three-quarter right). Inscription: 'NON SI VOLTA CHIA STELLA EFISO.' Reverse: Port broadside view of the battleship. Inscription: 'R NAVE LEONARDO DA VINCI.' Fitted with a loop and ring. The battleship was torpedoed during the war 1914-18: this medal was recovered from the wreck.
