Medal commemorating the Brazilian fleet off Humaita, 1868. Obverse: Four ships of war steaming up a narrow river, forts on the right firing. Point of land on left. Legend: 'A ESQUADRA BRAZILEIRA FORÇA O PASSO DE HUMAITÁ.' Exergue: 'XIX DE FEVEREIRO DE MDCCCLXVIII.' (The Brazilian Squadron forces the passage of Humaita on 19 February 1868.) Reverse: Inscription, within laurel wreath, 'AOS DA PASSAGEM DE HUMAITÁ.' (To those who took part in the passage of Humaita.) Fitted with a loop.
