Obverse: Bust of Lieutenant Weddigen in uniform and cap (three-quarter left), inscription (right and left): 'KOMMANDANT AUF "U29" OTTO WEDDIGEN.' Reverse: A Viking in helmet and armour, a spear in right, a tiller in left hand, standing in the stern of a sinking boat. Legend: 'EWIG . UNVERGESSEN . BLEIBE - KÜHNER . WIKING-DEINE . TODESFART.'
