Ingot depicting an East Indiaman

Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Starboard broadside view of a 17th century East Indiaman sails set. Inscription: 'EAST INDIAMAN'. Reverse: Inscription, 'EAST INDIAMAN Seventeenth Century. Used in the lucrative Indies trade, the stately Dutch East Indiamen helped make Holland a leading maritime power of the seventeenth ceentury. The ships were broad beamed for seaworthiness and cargo-carrying capacity and were armed with guns for protection against pirates.'
