Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Starboard broadside view of a Greek Trireme, sail set. Three figures standing at the bow. Inscription: 'GREEK TRIREME'. Reverse: Inscription, 'GREEK TRIREME C. 400 B.C. In one of history's most crucial sea battles, 300 Greek Triremes saved Greece from conquest by defeating the powerful Persian fleet in the battle of Salamis. Highly maneuverable and specially equipped for ramming enemy vessels, the Greek Trireme had triple banks of oars on either side and a single sail.'
