Membership token of The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners Royal Benevolent Society. Obverse: Bust of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) in a pigtail and uniform (left). Legend: 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY'. Inscription: 'No.' Reverse: Port-quarter view of a three-masted ship partially dismasted driving on the rocks. Legend: 'SHIPWRECKED MARINERS SOCIETY . 1872'. Membership token issued annually as receipt for subscriptions. Pierced with hole for suspension.
