Prototype azimuth compass in a wooden box. Designed by James R. Napier, a prototype. Card of 8 parallel rods (magnets) from which Kelvin card was developed. Napier and Thomson worked together. Graduated 0-360 degs. Fitted with azimuth mirror. Stop device.
