Bowl-Dia. 6.7" (17cm) Wooden bowl, decorated with carving and painted in blue and gold, glazed at top and bottom. Fitted with a gimbal suspension at top. Inside of bowl painted white with a black lubber line painted on side.
Card-Dia. 5.1" (13cm) Paper (?), top black with white markings. Graduated to 32 points with a decorated East point. Bottom white with black, red and yellow markings. Graduated to 32 points with decorated East point. Decorated with emblematical figures of Planets and scene of ship and figure at centre. Six sealing wax blobs are attached to top of card, for balance.
Needle-Length 4.9" (12.5cm) Wire bent in lozenge shape mounted on top of card.
Pivot-Pivot stem with point attached at centre of bridge bar mounted across diameter of bowl bottom.
O.A. Height 8.25" (20.9cm)
