Pocket telescope
This achromatic telescope has a tapering leather-covered barrel and three stove-enamelled brass draw tubes. The other brass fittings include a pivoted eyepiece cover. The leather objective lens cap is now missing.
The maker's name is inscribed on the smallest draw tube as 'West, / 92 & 93, Fleet St. / London', probably Francis West, who is known to have worked at this address.
