Cup
Coffee cup, of the type known as a zarf, made in Geneva for the Turkish and Eastern market. It reputedly belonged to Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The porcelain cup has a green exterior decorated with a painted border of flowers and the interior is white. It has a gold holder enamelled turquoise with coloured flowers, the whole is contained within a green shagreen (fish skin) outer case.
