Barrel with lid and stand

Spirit barrel made in three pieces. The barrel is glazed yellow with blue 'bound' ends. A stipple portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) is printed on one end inscribed 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY' and impressed 'NELSON'. A similar portrait of John Jervis, Earl St Vincent (1735-1823) on the other end has the incised inscription 'EARL ST VINCENT'. It is mounted on a cylindrical stand with a circular base, coloured yellow, blue and green. The lid a shaped as a stout man seated on a barrel with a jug and a tankard.
