Jardiniere

A glazed earthenware, moulded jardiniere with two lugs in the shape of dolphin heads. On one side, in relief, a half-length portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) with oak sprays behind. On the other side, the prow of a classical single-masted ship with naval trophies. The rim base and the dolphin heads are gilt. The figure, foliage and trophies are painted in natural colours against a white background. AAA5029 and AAA5030 are a pair.
