Jug

Pratt ware jug moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Berry (1768-1831). The figure inscribed 'Admiral Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Berry is on the other side, facing right, inscribed 'Captain Berry'. The inscriptions are moulded around the neck and painted blue. The figures are painted with blue coats, yellow facings and orange order ribbons. In the background, the sea is striped green and brown with a ship on either side of each portrait. The rim and base of the jug are decorated with brown lines and there are moulded fleur de lis around the rim. Berry was Nelson's Flag Captain at the Battle of the Nile in 1798.
