Plaque

An oblong lustre wall plaque, transfer-printed in black with a view of a warship under sail wearing an ensign and pennant. Below it are two cornucopiae with flowers and an inscription in a cartouche: 'May Peace and Plenty/on our Nation Smile/And Trade with Commerce/Bless the British Isle.' The deep border is painted with pink lustre and the scrolled edges are decorated with copper lustre. There are two holes pierced for suspension and the maker's name is impressed on the reverse.
