Includes the name of the trainee, their position within the crew (such as master, 1st mate, 2nd mate, 3rd mate, surgeon, steward, midshipman, apprentice- of which there would usually be several), there is a separate list of apprentices, the age, when entered the service, last ship served in and general remarks are given. The volume contains an alphabetical index to the training ships. The individuals are listed under the training ship only.
