Belgian merchant ensign (after 1831)
Belgian merchant ensign, 1831 pattern. It is made of wool bunting, machine sewn and with a linen hoist marked 'MP'. A rope for hoisting is attached. The design consists of black, yellow and red vertical stripes. The proportions are incorrect and should be either 2:3 for a Belgian civil ensign or 13:15 for the national flag.
