Purple silk brocade dress with lace cuffs. Comes associated with four separate pieces of the same material, numbered ZBA4678.1 to ZBA4678.4.
The white fichu (square kerchief around the neck) is a modern addition for illustrative purposes only.
Worn by Sophia Maskelyne (nee Rose), wife of fifth Astronomer Royal, Nevil Maskelyne. Possibly worn on her wedding day on 21 August 1784. Used with mannequin PRP1100.
