Scabbard

Scabbard for stirrup hilted dress sword, the hilt of the sword consists of a gilt stirrup guard. The black leather scabbard originally has two gilt lockets and rings and a stud for frog suspension on the obverse of the top locket. The ring of the mid locket is now missing, as is the chape. The reverse of the top locket bears the words 'Stephens Opposite the Crown Portsmouth'.
