Full hull model; Baseboard

Scale: 1:48. Stand for a contemporary full hull model of a steam launch of ‘HMS Bombay’ (1828). pinned to the wooden baseboard are two silver plaques, the first is inscribed: ‘This boat in the state represented was the means of saving the lives of 130 officers and men when the ship was destroyed by fire in the Rio De La Plata Dec. 14th 1864’ and the second, ‘Model of steam launch of HMS Bombay made from the piece of the mizzen mast and gear attached by J S Watts Esq. Master of the Bombay Scale ¼ inch to 1 foot’.
