Celestial navigational globe
Metal framework for celestial navigational globe. Astronomical details on the sphere show only the principal stars, connected by lines. Constellation areas are outlined by contours. The stars are presented by different symbols but there is no magnitude table. A total of 19 stars are named on the globe. Most of the 48 Ptolemaic constellation names for the areas are represented and two of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Three of the southern constellations of Plancius are drawn and one of Hevelius. For full details about the cartography and construction of this globe please refer to the related publication.
