A view of the huge wake off the stern from the light cruiser HMS 'Aurora' (1913) while under speed trials in the Edinburgh Channel, North Sea. The photographer was standing on the port side of the quarterdeck beside the after 6 inch gun. In the middle distance is a lashed down Carley Float, with chains tied down further aft.
