An overglaze enamel painted earthenware figure group of a sailor and lass, with a background of moulded flowers and foliage. She sits on a wall on a green mound wearing a pink dress, flowered petticoat, green apron and yellow bonnet. The sailor stands beside her, holding her hand, his stick and bundle of possessions at his feet. He has a pigtail and wears a blue jacket and trousers, striped waistcoat, black neckerchief and hat.
