A starboard broadside view of the light cruiser HMS 'Penelope' (1914) on station off the beam of HMS 'Aurora' (1913). She is shown with her new tripod foremast, which was fitted between May and September 1916 after she sustained damage when torpedoed by UB 29 on 25 April 1916.

The negative has water spotting on it, which has affected the quality of the image.
