Earthenware flat-back figure of an English sailor leaning against a gun on a carriage with his legs crossed. This design is sometimes entitled 'READY AND WILLING'. The figure has a beard but no moustache and wears a yellow straw hat, red striped shirt, black neckerchief and white trousers. The face and hands are coloured naturalistically and the white base is decorated with a gilt line.
