In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Certain ships at Longreach have received excessive complements. Excess crew are to sail as supernumeries for service in Admiral Herbert's ships. The SCEPTRE and the SAMUEL AND HENRY hired to serve in the West Indies are to receive Boatswains and Carpenters as recommended and the men in the SAMPSON and ELIZABETH Fireships at Sheerness are to transfer to the DUKE and their Officers paid off. Enclosed is a demand from men at Brixham for anchors and cables put aboard the Fanfare at Dartmouth. Captain Frankmore is to be appointed to the GEORGE and is to bring the FANFARE from Dartmouth to Portsmouth.
