Sopwith Schneider No. 1557 in flight near the light cruiser HMS Undaunted (1914)

The Sopwith Schneider bi-plane seaplane No. 1557 in flight low over Harwich Harbour. On the right of the photograph is the light cruiser HMS Undaunted (1914) at moorings. A naval launch is under way off the bow of Undaunted.

The seaplane was delivered to Felixstowe on 2 May 1915 and after tests on various ships, including HMS Aurora (1913), she was badly damaged on landing on 6 June 1915 and deleted on 7 June.

The negative has scratches and some fingerprints on it reducing the quality of the image.
