A Twaqo type junk under construction in a boatyard at Singapore
        
        Inside the hull of a Twaqo type junk under construction in a boatyard at Singapore.  The photographer is looking forward from the centreline showing the vessel with the lower frames and many of the side frames in place.  The swim-headed bow is partially planked.  The frames are made of a mix of sawn and prepared timber and rough cut tree branches.  The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
