The hull of a peaked stern Twaqo type junk under construction in a boatyard at Singapore. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from above the port side amidships showing the framing and most of the external planking complete. The swim-headed bow is fully planked. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
