A peaked bow, open stern Twaqo type junk moored at Singapore

A port bow view of a peaked bow, open stern Twaqo type junk moored at Singapore. The vessel is of the two masted type and the lug sails are stowed fore and aft. She is swim headed and has occuli on the bow. A windlass is to port of the mainmast. no accommodation is evident and the tops of her masts are out of the picture. The number 1031 is painted on her hull extension at the stern. Other junks and berthed on either side of her. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
