A view of the stern of an unidentified type of junk moored at Singapore
A starboard quarter view of the stern of an unidentified type of junk moored at Singapore. The stern has a sloping transom which is decorated with paintings, including depictions of the sun emblem on the flag on Nationalist China. The bulwarks are also decorated. A large accommodation cabin is aft of a mast, the top of which is out of the picture. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
