        On board a five masted Ta-Pu-To trader type junk while under sail off Weihaiwei.  The photographer is on the waist looking forward and slightly to starboard showing the base of the mainmast, a capstan and a large rope stowed against the bulwark. The main halyard? is connected to the capstan. Lug sails are set on each mast. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.  Negatives numbers P34355 to P34362 inclusive are on board the same vessel.
