The sterns of the Foochow trader type junks 1021 and 0667 at Shanghai
A close view of the sterns of the Foochow trader type junks 1021 and 0667 anchored abreast at Shanghai. The photographer is abaft the sterns looking forward. The junk on the right is numbered 1021. Her main and mizzen sails are stowed and she has a boat on outriggers over the highly decorated transom. The top of her mizzen mast is just out of the picture. Alongside 1021 is the junk 0667 and she appears to be a vessel of a larger type and also has a boat on outriggers over the transom. A vertical format negative. Negative number P34373 is another view of their sterns from a different angle.
