A distant view of two pole junks anchored at Shanghai

A distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of two three masted pole junks at anchor at Shanghai. The vessel in the centre has a substantial cargo of logs lashed to her hull amidships. The photographer's ship was in Northern Chinese waters in the periods 3 June to 10 october 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938
