A starboard broadside view of the pole junk 1204 anchored with other junks at Shanghai. She is three masted, has an occuli at the bow and her port number is painted on her bulwark. Her sails are stowed and the tops of her fore and main masts are out of the picture. The photographer's ship was in Northern Chinese waters in the periods 3 June to 10 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938.
