Patch box

Oval patch box commemorating the battle of the Glorious 1st of June, 1794. The surface is enamelled with a royal blue base and sides, the white lid with an untinted transfer depicting three warships in action flanked by a branch on either side. The transfer includes the inscription: 'The glorious Victory of Earl Howe' above, 'On the 1st of June 1794' below the action.
